Considering the fact that the USA forced the individual French citizen Dominique Strauss-Kahn to pay $6 million bail and putting him under house arrest, while doing so the USA destroyed his present career (IMF Chairman) as well as his future career (President of France), $60 million compensation is peanuts.
If a person like Dominique Strauss-Kahn is involved, it’s normal procedure to keep the press unaware of it, at least until the Prosecution are sure of their case. This hasn’t happened in the case of Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
From the very beginning US officials have deliberately shamed and harmed Dominique Strauss-Kahn, up to the point where he was forced to resign from his job as Chairman of the International Monetary Fund.
Now we know that Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s so-called victim, 32-year old Nafissatou Diallo from Guinea, West Africa, has been lying about many things. She has used the crime of rape as a reason to be accepted as a fugitive in the USA, by lying about what happened to her in Guinea. In the case of Dominique Strauss-Kahn she tried to use the same success formula to get more. The so-called victim lied about her whereabouts days before the so-called rape, and she lied about what she did right after the so-called rape.
One day after the so-called rape Nafissatou Diallo called her boyfriend, who is serving a prison sentence in Arizona. In this conversation she told her boyfriend, “Don’t worry, this man has lots of money, I know what I’m doing”.
Any responsible government in any modern democracy would have checked the reliability of the so-called victim before even talking about arresting a man with the international stature of Dominique Strauss-Kahn. The US government has failed to do so, and this failure has caused the destruction of Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s present and future political career.
This failure calls for compensation. $60 million at least. $300 million would be reasonable. $800 million would be fair.
The facts? All we know that Dominique Strauss-Kahn had sex with the chamber maid. There is no proof of rape, no proof of violence, no proof whatsoever that indicates anything else than Dominque Strauss-Kahn having sex with a chamber maid. By god, the man is a socialist, why not?
Moreover, paying Dominique Strauss-Kahn a significant amount of money as compensation, could be seen as a form of rehabilitation, and could thus diminish the damage that has been done to him.
